It was 25 years ago, on the 1st of October 1998, that Health Matters opened its doors to our first store on the main street in Bray, Co. Wicklow. We now have 5 stores in Ashleaf Shopping centre Crumlin, Grafton Street, The Mill shopping centre Clondalkin and City west. We are an Irish owned, independent company and have been very proud to serve and support our local communities over the last 25 years. We are now seeing the children of our original customers come into the stores and hope to see THEIR children in the next 25 years!
The world of health has changed, grown and expanded over the last 25 years and we have always worked hard to ensure that we keep up to date with the latest innovations in the industry. We were one of the first health stores in Ireland to source top quality supplements like Viridian, Solgar, Wiley’s Finest Fish Oils and Nature’s Answer.
Over the years, we may have altered the look of our stores, changed our company logo and amended our colour schemes, but one thing that hasn’t changed too much is our staff! We have an extraordinary, well trained, staff base in all our stores. In our Bray store, 3 of the staff have been there for over 20 years, which translates into a wealth of experience and knowledge to support and advise our customers.
In 2018, our Bray store, very proudly, won the Retailer of the Year Award at the Bray Chamber of Commerce Awards. This was a testament to the value our business has brought to the town, and we were delighted and honoured to receive it.
We spoke to Marina in Bray about working for Health matters:
“I have worked for Health Matters for a quarter of a century now! When we started out in 1998, we were the educators to a great degree but over the years our customers have acquired a lot of knowledge and know exactly what their health requirements are.
One of the best things about working for Health Matters is the rapport that exists between all the staff. In 25 years, we have shared all our joys and sorrows. During the heavy snows in 2011 my car broke down and one of our customers loaned me their car while I found another one. A remarkable kindness I shall never forget.”
Health Matters Bray have been part of the community for 25 years. We owe our ongoing success to the loyalty of our customers just as much as the willingness of our staff to provide the best customer service as possible. We look forward to serving the people of Bray for the next 25 years!
